In my investigations of the ancient sites of Wiltshire, Somerset and Dorset – the standing stones, hill forts, barrows, my intention is to make visible the uniqueness of the place in terms of how the surface of the painting is marked, to suggest a sense of the historical known but also the unease of the ruin, the unknown,  what was there before.
